Decking
We can install Pressure-treated wood, Composite Decking, Vinyl Decking, and Maintenance-Free decking.
Railing
Railing can be a simple 2 x 4 railing, and 2 x 2 pickets with just a top rail. Or, we can install a heavier wood railing, with various other pickets. Newer, more popular railings include metal (black, white, or grey), with metal spindles, or glass panels (smoked or clear). The newest in railing is composite, maintenance free railing.
Stairs
Staircases can be wood: Pressure-treated wood stringers. Or the stringers can be metal. The treads can be wide 10" Pressure-treated wood, or the same decking that is on the flat deck.
Supplies and Codes
The frame of the decks are constructed with 2 x 8 Pressure-treated wood. This is specifically designed for outside conditions. All decks are held together with coated, exterior decking screws. Guaranteed not to rust. The joists are spaced at 16 inches 'on center.' The decks rest on a sturdy three, 2 x 8 pressure-treated beam. All codes are followed on each deck; from spacing of each post, to the number of beams, and correct length of screws, to height of railing.
Quotes
Before we are able to begin construction on your deck, we need to first agree on the product, service, and price. Being that each deck has it's own characteristics, they must each have their own qoutes. A Simple Design Decks Colleague must visit the site for a 'meaure' looking for access and working conditions. From there you and the SDD colleague will discuss the dimensions, materials, timeframe, etc... The SDD colleague then compiles the information and send you a quote on the price of constucting a deck; including labour, materials, and clean-up. Each quote is good for seven days after the date on the quote. Once the quote is accepted, the deck is placed on Simple Design Decks schedule.
